Jordan Max: “Out Of Luck”

JORDAN MAX RETURNS WITH HIS INCREDIBLE NEW SINGLE “OUT OF LUCK”

24-year-old Jordan Max is a singer songwriter with a voice way beyond his years. You’d be forgiven for thinking it belonged to an accomplished singer from Detroit or Memphis, yet Jordan was born and resides in Oldham – a small underprivileged town in Greater Manchester.

Combining elements of soul, hip-hop and alternative, Jordan takes influence from classic songwriters like Ray Charles and Sam Cooke – yet his stripped back production is pinned on the spatial nuances of modern bass music.

Today Pigeons & Planes premieres his new single “Out Of Luck”. A track full of power and intensity, pairing Jordan’s raw, emotional vocals with a pounding beat to match.

Speaking on the track Jordan says:
“Broken, lacking love and money after a relationship, ‘Out of Luck’ was made. Lifted by my friends and family towards a brighter day.”

His distinctive, rough-hewn voice quickly gained attention last year when he released his debut single ‘Hell’. A dark and moving tale that impressed tastemaker sites Pigeons and Planes, i-D Magazine and Clash Magazine to name but a few, as well as featuring as the BBC Introducing track on BBC Radio 1’s playlist twice.

The single was the lead from Jordan’s debut EP ‘Only One King’, a release that marked an impressive beginning to what is set to be a fruitful career. Recorded in his bedroom, the debut project sparked interest from BBC Radio 1, Beats1, Jo Whiley, Pharrell Williams, Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, Julie Adengua, Huw Stephens and more.

He found another fan in acclaimed producer Danger Mouse, who will release ‘Out Of Luck’ as a limited 7” on his own label 30th Century Records later this Spring 2017.

Long before he even knew he could sing, Jordan began exploring his musical interests as a bedroom producer of UK bassline and drum & bass. Fast forward four years, and Jordan watched the Ray Charles biopic, a film that was to have a profound impact on his musical direction and inspire him to teach himself the piano, developing a style of his own that would form the roots of his musical future.

Combining all this with a signature voice that is proving to be one to watch, Jordan is confidently cementing himself as one of the most exciting and promising talents in the UK music scene today.
Don’t let him out of your sight!
